“Now that I have my own law firm, I have found that many of the clients I worked with during 40 years on Wall Street still retain me for specialized advice.

Usually my advice concerns strategic objectives or tactical moves central to a transaction’s success.

In many instances I have a long-standing relationship with a deal participant who is not my client, but that can help open up new channels of communication.

I often work, as co-counsel, with much larger firms which are equipped for time-consuming tasks like due diligence and document drafting.

Meanwhile, as a resident of Sag Harbor since 1980 I am not a stranger to our local political leaders and regulators. This has led to work on selective land use issues and the elder law challenges that patients face in trying to navigate the health care system.

Finally, I often help out both friends and strangers with problems unique to their life circumstances. Here my work is more akin to a country lawyer – charging little or nothing for my time, and problem-solving with a combination of some legal insights and common sense.”
